New Studies

Today I will begin formal study in Instructional Design as part of the community of students, faculty and staff at Syracuse University, School of Education, IDD & E. I enter into the program with several impressions, beliefs, and philosophy based on a combination of personal experiences as a professional, observations as a cynical character in a sometimes oddly designed world, and the son of a music composer whose innovative studies and pedagogical works have struck at the root of music reading, composing and performing skill theory.

I have also served as a self-proclaimed evangelist about the subtleties and sophistication behind the sport of bowling. I have found that there are many ways to use this sport as an example of certain reasoning skills, using an empirical cycle of cause/effect/cognition/adjustment to improve performance. It seems no matter what problem one needs to solve, there is an example to be found from the experience of being an athlete in this sport.

I will provide some details about my beliefs in the posts to follow.
